SCAPS offers the following membership options:

Active Membership

Active membership is available to any staffing/recruiting consultant or staffing firm, which is legally licensed/registered in the state in which their firm is located and operates within the boundaries of the United States. Membership Dues are $225. Dues for 4th quarter are $100 ($75+$25 app fee).

Each Active member firm designates a representative that is entitled to one vote on association recommendations. We encourage each Active member to become actively involved with the association leadership opportunities.

Active Membership Benefits:

bullet"SCAPSCOOP" Newsletter - Active members receive our quarterly newsletter - "SCAPSCOOP". This informs members of important business and legislative issues, industry news, member benefits, SCAPS events, and related information.
bulletMembership Handbook - Active members will receive a Membership Handbook, which includes membership information as well as a detailed membership listing by name, location, specialties, e-mail address, location, etc.
bulletArbitration Program - Active members can utilize our Arbitration system when disputes arise between member firms. The Arbitration & Ethics Committee provides a forum for amiable settlement of disagreements between members without legal expense and assists in handling problems or questions concerning ethics.
bulletLeadership - SCAPS is led by a volunteer Board of Directors who are elected annually by the membership. The Board is responsible for directing SCAPS activities to meet the needs of our members. We encourage each member to serve as a Board of Directors or Committee member.
bulletNetworking - SCAPS offers many opportunities for its members to 'network'. SCAPS encourages its members to develop long-term relationships with other members who share in similar interests.
bulletPublicity - Active members receive enhanced visibility through our newsletter, membership directory, press releases, conferences, mailouts, e-mail and internet website.
bulletLegal Hotline - Active members can obtain free legal counsel via telephone.
bulletBranch Location Benefit - Active members with multiple locations can have branch representation for only $35 per branch.
bulletDiscounted Services - SCAPS members receive substantial discounted rates on Insurance (Health, E&O, Liability), Long Distance Telephone, Industrial Directories, Legal Newsletter, Internet Access, Drug Testing and other beneficial products & services.
bulletSCAPS Website - Active members receive a complimentary website located on the SCAPS website (http://www.scaps.org). Each Active member has the opportunity to link their home page to the SCAPS website. Our website is used as a communication tool for our members and as a resource for job seekers.
bulletJob Posting - Active members are able to post Job Orders to the SCAPS Website Job Search Engine. Candidates have the ability to search the SCAPS Job Database.
bulletWebsite Candidate Referral - SCAPS 'on-line' Active members have the ability to receive information from candidates that visit the SCAPS website. Active members will receive a password to Members Only area of website.
bulletDiscounted Seminar Rates - Active members receive discounted conference/seminar registration fees.
bulletMember Referral Program - Active members receive $50 off seminar registration fees for referring prospects to SCAPS. Prospects must become an Active member to receive this credit and the referral must be stated on the prospects application form.

Associate Membership

Associate Membership is available to any non-staffing/recruiting business that is related to the staffing/recruiting industry. Annual membership for Associate members is $225. This membership category is non-voting.

Associate Membership Benefits:

bullet "SCAPSCOOP" Newsletter listing - Associate members receive a free listing in our quarterly newsletter - "SCAPSCOOP". This informs the Associate members of important business and legislative issues, industry news, member benefits, SCAPS events, and related information.
bullet Conference Vendor Discounts - Associate members will receive discounted vendor rates at our Spring and Fall State Conferences.
bullet Sponsorship Opportunities – Associate members have the opportunity to sponsor events or materials at our conference and events.
bullet Membership Handbook - Associate members will receive a Membership Handbook, which includes membership information as well as a detailed membership listing by name, location, specialties, e-mail address, location, etc. The Membership Handbook will also include space to promote the services/products of our Associate members.
bullet Publicity - Associate members will have an opportunity to meet with our Board of Directors at scheduled meetings and to share their offerings at our regional and state conferences. Associate members also receive enhanced visibility through our newsletter, membership directory, press releases, conferences, mailouts, e-mail and internet website.
bullet SCAPS Website - Associate members receive a listing, with logo linking to your website, on the SCAPS website (http://www.scaps.org). Each Associate member has the opportunity to link their home page to the SCAPS website. Our website is used as a communication tool for our members and as a resource for job seekers.
bullet Member Referral Program - Associate members receive $50 off seminar registration fees for referring prospects to SCAPS. Prospects must become an Associate member to receive this credit and the referral must be stated on the prospects application form.

Honorary Membership


This category of membership is available to retired members of the association. There is no fee for this membership.

Branch Location Benefit

SCAPS is now offering a new benefit for member firms with more than one location called our "Branch Office" benefit. This benefit will give SCAPS the opportunity to communicate directly with branch offices rather than the corporate location. This is an optional benefit. Only the designated representative of an Active Member can enroll individual branches. See Branch Benefit Enrollment form.

For $30 per year, each branch office enrolled in this benefit program will receive:

bullet"Mini-website" on the SCAPS Website
bulletListing in Membership Directory (alphabetical, geographical, specialization, etc.)
bulletReceive issues of SCAPSCOOP
bulletReceive all SCAPS correspondence (conference announcements, flyers etc.)
bulletBranch representative can serve in SCAPS leadership positions

This is an optional benefit, not a class of membership. Each Active Member will receive one vote regardless of the number of branches who enroll in this benefit program. This benefit is offered to Active members with more than one branch location.

SCAPS Membership Process

SCAPS approves membership for Active membership in accordance with our current By-Laws. This is an overview of the application / membership process.

Prospective members can join apply for membership using our application form which can be obtained by contacting our current SCAPS President.

  1. Complete Membership Application and mail with dues payment to SCAPS. The prospective member will be contacted by the SCAPS VP Membership to review application and discuss membership.
  2. If the prospective member indicates that they will be doing "perm", "temp to perm" or "direct hire" recruiting, then our Administrator will contact the Secretary of State's Office to confirm the agency's compliance with the state law section 41-25. If the agency is not in compliance with the state law, the agency will not be eligible for SCAPS membership. The Private Personnel Placement Services Act can be found at http://www.scaps.org.
  3. Our Administrator will send out a 'prospect announcement' letter to all of our Active members after receiving the completed application. Each Active member has 15 days to respond to the announcement letter to voice any concerns about the prospective member. Concerns will be addressed and handled in accordance with the SCAPS By-laws.
  4. If no concerns are voiced by the Active members, then the prospective member will be approved 15 days from the date of the announcement letter.

All Memberships begin January 1st and end on December 31st of each calendar year.
